Weyland Focus Review 2019 – Pro’s and Con’s

Weyland FocusWhat is Weyland Focus

Weyland Focus produced by Weyland Brain Nutrition is a brain supplement comprised of a mixture of herbal extracts, nootropics, and brain-supportive nutrients. The 30+ ingredient formula is advertised to encourage better brain functioning, improve concentration, alertness, and focus, and support better memory.

Weyland Brain Nutrition is a US-based company with little experience in developing brain supplements (they started their first product in 2015). However, the company has an excellent track record, and it produces some highly popular supplements. Besides Focus, they also make a Lithium Orotate supplement, 5-HTP, EGCG (basically a green tea extract), Organic L-Dopa (supports dopamine levels), Sleep, Relax, and Weyland Energy (a product that is designed to boost your energy levels throughout the day).

The official website states that all Weyland supplements are made using top quality, additive-free ingredients. All their products are manufactured in the United States in an FDA-inspected, cGMP, and 3rd party rated facility.

Benefits of Weyland Focus

Weyland Focus is an all-in-one supplement that includes no less than 31 different ingredients. Usually, we are not impressed by such formulas because of the very simple reason: the more different ingredients you add, the less of each ingredient is in each capsule, and with smaller amounts, the effectiveness of the product will decrease.

Excepting the standard vitamins and minerals, Weyland Focus also includes 644 mg of a comprehensive Proprietary Focus Blend consisting of several proven amino acids, herbal extracts, CoQ10, NADH, and caffeine.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCL is basically an amino acid containing L-Carnitine and acetate. It is produced in the body to some degree through the conversion of Lysine and L-Carnitine in the liver. Once absorbed into the bloodstream, Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCL will provide the much needed “fuel” for energy production, which is the reason why this amino acid is so important for the human body. Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCL is also one of the few amino acids capable of crossing over the blood-brain barrier and entering into the central nervous system.

L-Tyrosine is another essential amino acid, and it is used in the synthesis of structural proteins (including neurotransmitters). According to several recent clinical studies, L-Tyrosine might be directly affecting the brain. This amino acid promotes better mood, increases energy during the day, reduces stress, and improves focus and mental clarity.

Bacopa (commonly known as Brahmi) is a plant that has been used for centuries in traditional Ayurvedic medicine in India to treat mental illness, asthma, and epilepsy. Modern medicine is studying Bacopa’s usefulness in treating Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, depression, and age-related cognitive decline. The preliminary results are encouraging.

Ginkgo Biloba is, without any doubt, one of the most popular ingredients in brain supplementation. Its therapeutic properties are said to include treatment for memory problems and blood disorders, support better eye health and enhancement of cardiovascular function. Ginkgo Biloba’s leaves contain high levels of antioxidants (terpenoids and flavonoids) that provide protection against oxidative cell damage from harmful free radicals. The plant is currently studied as a potential treatment for cancer.

Weyland Focus also includes a powerful stimulant in the form of the caffeine-rich Guarana seed extract. Stimulants can provide huge boosts of energy for a very short time, usually followed by crashes. This is the main reason we don’t like the inclusion of stimulants in any formulation. There are far better and safer alternatives.

How Much Does Weyland Focus Cost?

Each bottle of Weyland Focus contains 40 vegetarian capsules, which is enough for up to 20 servings at the recommended dose of two capsules per day. One bottle of Weyland Focus costs between $19.95 and $24.95 (depending on retailer), which is not a bad value. However, Weyland Brain Nutrition does not offer any guarantee for this supplement. With no guarantee and no free sample, customers have no way to test the product. It’s a risk, and you may end up losing money.

Potential Weyland Focus Side Effects

Weyland Brain Nutrition doesn’t list any possible adverse effects for their product, but that doesn’t mean there are none. Because the formula contains a substantial dose of caffeine, consumers should try to limit the amount of caffeine they consume.

  • Cheaper compared to other similar supplements
  • Made in the United States in a GMP facility
  • The formula contains some powerful and proven ingredients
  • Good balance of herbal extracts, amino acids, and minerals
  • Many positive reviews and testimonials available online

  • It contains caffeine, which is a powerful stimulant
  • No money back guarantee and no free sample – if the product doesn’t work for you there is no way getting your money back
  • Wayland Focus has over 30 different ingredients

Final Verdict

From a formula point of view, Weyland Focus is not that unique. The Proprietary Blend is an exciting mixture of herbal extracts, amino acids, and other compounds that may work together, but there is no guarantee as the product hasn’t been tested in a clinical environment.

We appreciate the inclusion of strong amino acids, ingredients that have been tested and proven to work. Will they work together? That is an entirely different question.

Another aspect that concerns us is how many different ingredients have been included in just 644 mg of Proprietary Focus Blend. It is an average of 33 mg per ingredient, which simply isn’t enough to make a noticeable difference.
